Part 1 of this four-part audio discussion is here. You will also find there the printed article that was taken partly from this discussion, as well as from two other discussions for which I do not have the recordings. I shared that article because it’s of course relevant, and has nice photos, and it does help to determine who said what. But, as I noted, it is very different from the actual discussion. For one thing, comments from all three panels are weaved together there, whereas here you get to hear this conversation as it happened, uninterrupted and unedited.
I have been listening to these recordings for months. Inspiring beyond words. I wrote Mr. Cole as a twelve year old wide eyed youngster back in the late 1970s and he always responded with words of wisdom both musical and otherwise. I love to practice to this stuff! Thanks Lewis.
Thanks, Lewis. I felt like I was right there, sitting around a table with these guys, soaking in all the wisdom.
Great! That's exactly what I hoped--it's so much better than just reading an article. THANKS RICHARD!
Please more of this if it exists with other musicians!
I do have other individual interviews, but not panel discussions. Those are rare! Glad you enjoyed them! THANKS MATT

That’s amazing that Cozy Cole wrote you back. What a great person and musician he was. Thanks for sharing that Jay!
