On April 26, 1994, jazz journalist and historian Ira Gitler interviewed Sonny Rollins before an audience of student and faculty musicians at the Manhattan School of Music.
Yes, of course I am familiar with this, and besides Bret is an old friend of mine. As you may know there is also a British TV documentary about Sonny where he goes back to the Bridge. This might be the audio from that, but I haven't checked. FYI, my personal rule is that I never share links to illegal sites (of which Sugarmegs is one) but I do share them privately (for example to paying members looking for rare audio or video). And I have no problem with you or other members sharing such sites. THANK YOU JACOB

The night I heard Sonny at Shelly's Manne Hole, during his first solo the intensity was so great that the entire audience was on it's feet yelling.
Very exciting! Roughly what year was that? THANKS GEORGE
If I remember correctly it was around 69 or 70.
THANKS!
